Laurel: Laurel hails from the great state of Michigan, but currently resides in Durham, North Carolina. According to her mother, she has been a feminist since emerging from the womb. She has been an atheist and, occasionally, a vegetarian since the age of 12. Laurel has a degree in International Relations from Michigan State University. Her academic interests include the global balance of power, citizenship and national identity, the philosophies of John Rawls and Nietzsche. Some things that Laurel especially enjoys are sarcasm, Swedish pop music, baking cookies without a recipe, and watching Star Trek: The Next Generation.
